Hello!

I am 35 years old and I started to use vapor products when I was 30 years old. I was drawn to vapor cigarettes because it is much safer, easier on my health,  allowed me to select nicotine levels to decrease my nicotine intake over time, and most importantly I was able to find any flavor under the sun that I could enjoy vaping in order to quit using nicotine and regular cigarettes. If it was not for the flavors I would have never tried it because I in fact would not want to go from smoking a regular cigarette to smoking a cigarette flavored vape juice.  That just doesn’t make sense and I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish my goal.

I have successfully quit smoking regular cigarettes and I am down to 3MG of nicotine in my vapor juices as compared to 18MG when beginning my venture. I have not smoked cigarettes, nor do I plan too. Now, with the exclusion of vape juice flavors this will be highly overwhelming and bring back memories of the distinguished tobacco flavor I once loved, and now hate. This would be a tremendous road block for me and tragedy to say the least.

I have a 13 year old daughter I have spoken with her on several occasions about cigarettes and electronic cigarettes. From my conversations with her there are as many teens in her school that smoke cigarettes as ones that choose to use electronic cigarettes. There are many other factors that play into a teen and specifically my teenage daughter wanting to try electronic cigarettes. It is not just flavors. With the exclusion of flavors, teens are still going to be curious to try electronic cigarettes as it is something different from the norm being that it is electronic, can be recharged, smokes differently, etc. There is also peer pressure and still going to be teens that are doing it, discuss it, and pressure others to try it.

These are ALL the same factors that go into why a teen tries regular cigarettes. Because it is a new brand, menthol or regular, wider, shorter, 100’s. Peer pressure from teens or others already smoking cigarettes.

The exclusion of flavors will only eliminate a very minimal, if any percentage at all of teens that will no try electronic cigarettes and in the process hurt individuals such as myself that have worked and came so hard to get away from regular cigarettes, the stench, the poisons in them, etc. My daughter has said more than once how happy she is that I quit smoking regular cigarettes and agrees and commends the actions I took to start vaping and continuing to do that instead of smoking regular cigarettes.

Please accept that fact that flavors is a very minute problem and the exclusion of them will potentially cause more harm than good. I ask that you make the right decision for EVERYONE, not just a group or crowd.
